Welcome
to the Cardiac Edge

You can reach your personal fitness goals safely

Cardiac Edge combines the resources of a cardiac lab with those of an exercise physiology lab. Through our comprehensive approach to cardiovascular and metabolic testing, The Cardiac Edge identifies and quantitates cardiovascular risk, and provides a precise measurement of current level of fitness and fitness potential. Cardiac Edge is dedicated to evaluating any individual who is motivated to better understand and improve cardiovascular health. We evaluate novice exercisers, experienced exercisers, and athletes at any level to help them to achieve a more complete understanding of their inherent capabilities while minimizing their cardiac risk. Our ultimate goal is to encourage an active lifestyle which reduces cardiovascular risk and enhances an individual’s quality of life and sense of well being.

MD, FACC: specialist in cardiac care and exercise physiology

Helping exercisers of any level to understand their fitness potential.

Dr. Joel JacowitzI started the Cardiac Edge because for most of my life I have loved exercising, first as a karate expert and then later when I became a sub-elite runner. The health and psychological benefits that exercise can provide are limitless and can lead to a better quality of life. There are many cardiologists who can provide some of the testing that Cardiac Edge performs, yet very few have my unique vantage point. I know what it takes to embark on a serious training program, and I know what it takes to train at a high level. When you visit our New Jersey Lab, our team will put you through a series of tests to discover in detail your current fitness level, your potential, and whether cardiac issues would limit safe exercise. These risks, if any, will be defined through further evaluation.

This program is a thorough cardiac and metabolic evaluation process, which will lead to safer and better exercise. Our evaluations are comprehensive and utilize the most modern testing and evaluation method offering a unique opportunity to discover hidden abilities, while identifying those at risk for heart disease. Our job is to point the way. Your investment and time can mean the difference in your safe participation in all levels of exercise. Any exercise that stresses your respiratory and cardiac systems should be approached intelligently.
